Ss...s?

While it ought to be on the news already if this is the case, you might want to check on whether the dog has bitten someone. I wouldn't put some poor kid through rabies shots to save myself some trouble. All other cases the "shutup" part is key. Here, the owner has to kill the dog immediately if it is found to be killing livestock, as well as pay well enumerated fines and restitution. Of course, i've not heard of the law being applied in decades. Even if it was, people are crazy and have no sense of responsibility anymore so pressing your legal rights means your tires get slashed and your birds get poisoned.

I would stick with SSS. But aren't we not breaking the 3rd S right now?

I might have to report this post to the mods for breaking the 3rd S and get this thread deleted.

All parties involved, should keep quiet on the matter. Do not tell the neighbor or law enforcement of the SSS...When no one is around, the area where the dog is buried should be made to look very natural, no sinking dirt hole. Blend in well with leaf litter to look as natural as possible. The essence of SSS is just that, keep your mouth shut....! To do otherwise is to open a can of worms that you may very well regret...IMO

The third S has already been violated if anyone else knows about it. That being said- time to shut up about it. No one is going to benefit from the info coming out now. Unstable neighbors can make your life a living hell and be dangerous to everyone forced to live around them. AC probably should have addressed the issue of this dog before now, but they have protocols and procedures they have to follow, too. Maybe they couldn't do anything until they had built up a ream of complaints or a person had been injured by the animal. Either way, the problem has been solved. Ssssshhh!

As I posted once before, I had the neighbors two pit bulls put
down recently for attacking my dog on my property.

I did not want to do it. Just something that had to be done.

Called the sheriff, who wanted to shoot the dogs on the spot.
He in turn called the dog warden, who came out.
They in turn called the game warden in.

So everyone except the neighbor was in my yard and involved
in the action.

The point? While it was something that had to be done, I was
fully protecting myself from any action by the neightbor. All legal.
CYA.

What a dilemma! I would also vote for staying quiet.

Is this the same friend you were talking about in your thread from last May, about SSS?

Thanks everyone, I knew I could count on you. I agree completely that it's best just to be silent and let the law do whatever it needs to do, but you guys are the go-to people for looking at all angles.

No, that was a different one, but she's a mutual friend of me and this gal I was having coffee with. And yes, she did keep her mouth shut on the incident in May.

It's amazing just how many questions get drummed up in situations like this.

I'm jumping into this late...definitely stay quiet. I recently reported someone to AC anonymously. I actually got a call from the AC officer while she was at the person's home asking me if I wanted to come and take the dog? I said to her, "Do you mean that you told the owner that it was me that reported him?" "Well," she said "He figured it had to be you because you were the only person here."

No lady, mailmen, meter readers, JW's....ya didn't have to rat me out!!

I would not say anything to AC about the dog.The owners of that dog might get another, and if it ends up as a SSS dog then the owners will know where to look(if neighbors fess up about about first dog). The people might not have anything to do with any other dogs dying by gun(or whatever),but everyone will THINK they did it since they did before. Would not mention it ever and would continue with SSS when needed.
