St. John's Wort

Pics
Thank you for posting this!!! I went out to the coop this morning and had some birds acting lame with dropped wings, Im off to the store!!!

Good, hope it works! Sparkle is much improved, can stand while eating now, and can walk much better, and now she struggleswhen we give her the stuff, before she didn't resist at all. She still has some problems with balance, but if she continues to improve I'm going to move her to the tractor so she can get more excercise. We are going to be taking her off the St John's Wort today or tomorrow and switching to the Curcumin with Bioperene, as it is safer since now she's showing improvement.

Day 2 of the curcumin, she is still very weak put I put her in the tractor for half an hour yesterday and she could actually run a few steps!
Hard to get her to eat the curcumin...I don't blame her either.

She is doing amazingly well and we plan on releasing her to the flock tomorrow. Can stand with ease, walk, run, flap her wings, and vocalize. Back to normal foraging when she's in the tractor. Bright and cheerful. We'll see how she does in the long term, but I have to say that stuff's amaziing.

Thank you so much for all the info about the Hypericum! I'm sure the Curcurum played a part too and in any future cases I will remember both.

Thanks for posting your story and experiences with this method. Sorry that your chook has to be the test subject to learn from though.

How were you applying the homeopaths? (Sorry if I must have missed that info further back in the thread)
Have you tried crushing the pillule and adding it to her water? Make it a small ammount of water that you know will be consumed in a short time or before the next dosing. This way she can self medicate and not be forced to swallow liquid or pillules.
My chook didn't even notice that I had Arnica'd her water and it was much easier than trying to struggle with a chicken I must say

Good luck to your chook in her recovery.

Thank you. with the Hypericum we just followed the instructions in this thread and dissolved one tab in a TBSP of distilled water, then opened her beak and dropped it on her tongue and in her nostrils, because it had to get to her sinuses. She did not object to this at all until she became much improved, and when she started struggling a lot we were ready to stop that treatment anyway. We put the curcumin on cantaloupe, or tomatoes, the only things we could find where she would touch that stuff. She didn't like it and it was a lot for her to ingest, and too much to really force. She did eat some of it and it seemed to be enough I hope so.

Quote: Wow, thanks for the update. That's great news! Good on you (and everyone else too) for being game to give it a go and experiment in order to find the cure. People often give others a lot of stick over that, saying it's cruel and so forth based on their own experiences, but sooner or later I believe every disease must have its cure discovered, and the "slaughter as a rule' method for dealing with disease I do not view as actually dealing with anything for the long term, for all intents and purposes.

Thanks again, and best wishes.

Thank you. I will try to update in a few months...hopefully there will be no relapse.
