St. Patty's Day Green Egg Hatch

**for some reason I can't quote... or use lines breaks... so I'm improvizing.***

- - Kellyn - - I'll probably set some assorted eggs tomorrow. I thought st patricks day was next week... oops? My EE's are fiiinally laying. I got the max # of 3 eggs today... slackers...! Is there such a thing as a green duck egg?- - - -

- - CarmerChef - - A lot of ducks lay light green or khaki eggs. Cayugas can lay black or charcoal colored eggs, but they also lay tan, pink and green.[/quote]

- - - kellyn - - -Dude. I've never seen a gren duck egg! I've seen cayuga eggs in catalgs, but that's it. I wanna get some more than ever now! Coz that's sooooooooooo cooooool!!!!!!!I forgot I joined this hatch. o_O

I think I set 17 chcken eggs I have 11 left. 10 were green and I have four of them left. I haven't trashed any(I don't think) because I did that and I... some had chicks. LIVE ones! The guilt! So I do egg-topsies now...

I hope I get two chicks. My eggs always kick the can around days 14-16... what's that about? It isn't the incubator, I'm sure. Anyon have any guesses?

Sorry 'bout your chickens, Farmerboy16... what'd they catch that was so bad?

All of my Australian Spotted Duck eggs are green......if I had bator space, I'd set some this Saturday....maybe one of my mama Aussies will go broody then too! This pic shows them in a nest a year or two ago- they're sort of hard to see, but they are green!

Lock down already !!!!

Gotta go clean the hatcher and move eggs around !!

Hatcher preparations are almost complete. The paper towels are placed in the channels; the shelf liner is covering the mesh; the water jars (minus sponge wicks; must go to the store and get some) are in place; I've wet everything that needs to be wet. Waiting now for the temp to stabilize again (which shouldn't take long; I used hot tap water). *waits eagerly to move eggs to hatcher*
