Stain in the carpet....

You know I seen this on tv the other day. They tell you to mix 1part water to 1 part peroxide. I may have to try this one.

I have 8 dogs and accidents happen, Oxy Clean works well, but I had never thought of Borax, may try that and see what works better.

Any enzyme cleaner works well (GO Natures Miracle!) and hydrogen peroxide will take the stain out, but may also remove the dye (English chick) so be careful. Works great on bloodstains tho! When I've had a persistent stain, I've used a bit of Woolite (delicate wash) in luke warm water and kept working on it for a few days (no ocd here- hehe). I've been through dogs (my own and fosters), cats, geckos, finches and frogs, so don't come inspect my house!

Since wool carpet came up, I should mention that I've always read that you aren't supposed to use oxiclean on wool. It eats the fibers. I use oxiboost, which is the same sort of product, without the artificial fragrance and more of the active ingredient in it. They do work great on stains, though and we use it for a lot of things.

You lucky duck (or chick!). I would love to go all hardwood but am not going to do it in this climate until I can afford radiant infloor heat!

shaving cream and a toothbrush for white carpet. just scrub n use a towel to wipe up.
ooo and I found some stuff at wal mart one time. works good. it's Folex instant carpet spot remover. no rinse. white spray bottle. It says removes: pet stains grease ink red wine coffee blood rust food cosmetics dirt most old stains Excellent for upholstry.

If some food stains occur on the carpet clean it first with kitchen dishwasher and then wash it. You will get crystal clear carpet.
