I have been reading from everyone not to use staples to fasten my wires to the walls. Do they mean staple gun staples or poultry staples that you have to hammer in? I have been using the hammer in poultry staples. They seem to be pretty sturdy.

I'm sure they are talking about the staple gun type. The u shaped are actually for fencing. Almost every barbed wire fence you see has them. I've seen my dads bull push against them and break the wooden post and not pull the staples.

I used an air stapler like this from Harbor Freight. If you have an air compressor I would highly recommend it.

Staples are not as secure as wood screws which won't pull out. A lot more labor intensive to install, though.
