Star gazing vs wry neck?

He's only eaten egg thus far, he did have chick pellets the first 2 days, but won't now. I don't have a picture of his poop, but it looks the same as his siblings.

Should i keep doing egg yolk and electrolytes? Is there anything else I can feed him?
If he'll eat the egg, then give it to him. You can also try wet mushy feed to see if that's interesting to him.

You've started him in the Vitamin E and B-Complex right?

Yes, i have given him 2 doses of it (sat + sun) and will give some later today once it's been 24 hrs. It's getting harder to feed him, but I can get a little in him.

I have always been able to get sick chickens to eat by holding up a small tin of mushy wet chicken feed, water, cooked egg, and varied with a bit of canned cat food and tuna. People sometimes will try tube feeding chickens to get enough food and water into them, to survive an illness. Those are available in different sizes here:

Tube or crop feeding can be done 2 or 3 times a day if tolerated.KayTee baby birds feed is sold at WalMart and pet sores as well as online. Here is some reading about tube feeding:

Here is a video one of many found online:

I’m sorry that he isn’t swallowing. Do you plan to get a necropsy and some testing for Mareks if you lose him? They can get wry neck also in end stages of respiratory diseases. I hope you can save him, but if you lose him, here is a list of state vets who can do a necropsy if you keep the body cold, but not frozen:

So.......i have another chicken with very similar symptoms. I am hoping if I start B and E I can save her, but does this sound like mareks? I am looking into getting a necropsy when he dies (still hanging on by a thread).

Another question: Is Coryza affiliated with Mareks at all? If it turns out to be mareks, can adult birds be vaccinated for it?

Thank you both for all of your help! I greatly appreciate it.

I'm sorry he's not doing well.

Can you get photos of the pullet and her poop? Yes, I'd start her on the vitamins if she's showing Wry Neck symptoms.

Infectious Coryza is a respiratory disease and generally Wry Neck is not associated with the disease. Its possible IC has weakened the system which allows other symptoms and conditions to take hold.

The Marek's vaccine is usually administered to just hatched chicks and they would be isolated away from existing poultry for a couple of weeks to hopefully let the vaccine take. Adults birds may have already been exposed to various diseases, so vaccinating them may not be that effective nor a practical step to take.

The Marek's vaccine helps to prevent formation of tumors, it does not prevent infection from the disease, so even with vaccination you may find that some birds still become sick with the disease.

Getting a necropsy would give you the most information as to the cause of his decline.

The little cockerel died overnight, and i am devastated. I know many would say "Just cull your flock" but I truly don't have the heart to do that, and I also think they all deserve a chance. Here is a picture of the hen(she makes circles), once I isolate her I will get a picture of her poop. I found another hen with a white spot/film over her eye, and yet another one limping. it is so disheartening.

Sorry that you lost him. Did you look at the Metzer link where you can find your state vet to get details and cost of a necropsy? Tell them it is a backyard flock. If you keep the cockerel’s body cold you take it to them or ship overnight for a necropsy. Ask also for Mareks testing if it seems likely. What state are you in?
