Started incubating eggs again

Waiting on my eggs to arrive I haven't hatched eggs in sooo long I've hatched geese, chicken, ducks and quail mostly for friends, I love incubating eggs! I started this time doing quail eggs but the incubator I bought was crap, so I only have 2 viable quail eggs left out of the 28 I started with. Well long story short, I was on ebay looking for new eggs to buy to try and incubate once my new incubator arrived and came across a deal I could not pass up, geese eggs 3 for 10.95 plus shipping and ebay gave me $5.00 off so of course I bought 2 orders they're set to arrive friday. I bought from this same seller years ago and the eggs were great 1 out of the 4 did not survive shipping but the other 3 hatched perfectly, so I'm crossing my fingers that I do a great job incubating these eggs. Any geese lovers are welcome to comment some pics of their geese to satisfy my goose fever

Good luck! I hope they hatch. If you don't have an incubator (sorry I might of forgotten if you said you have an incubator) try the IncuView by Incubator Warehouse! It's wonderful! Post pictures when they hatch!

Thanks I ordered a new incubator it's arriving tomorrow, eggs will be here Thursday so that'll give me time to get the incubator set up before the eggs get here. I see you have your hands full with some curious geese. I'll post an update on this thread.

Well its day 11 of incubation, 2 eggs were not fertile but I have 4 little geese kicking around in their shells. All 6 eggs had detached aircell's upon arrival. I let them sit for a day before I put them in the incubator, the aircell's reattached but they're saddled now. One egg I can clearly see liquid in the aircell when I candled it, not sure if the gosling would drown if it pipped I'm definitely thinking of intervening when hatch time comes to save it from the possibility of drowning,that is if my poor goslings make it to hatch day.

But for now they are growing and I'm sitting on my hands waiting for them.

Also I have been misting them and cooling them a few mins a day. the quail egg that I had made it to hatch day but never made it out of the egg. I've always heard to just leave them alone to hatch and not to open the incubator during hatch and that's exactly what I did. Unfortunately I think the quail suffocated because lack of air and needed intervention to maybe make the hole larger well I didn't bother it and that resulted in a fatality. I feel awful for not helping. So to occupy my mind I went out and bought 18 chicks from tractor supply. I got cochins,bantams,EE's,marans and "ameracanas" I hear ameracana's from feed stores are not actually Americanas the ones I got are white with yellow feet they look like white leghorn to me, but I really dont know about the ameracana breed so its possible they could be but, then again it is tractor supply. The EE'S I got were in the marans bin, Someone said they could be Wheaton maranas, but they have green feet so I'm sticking with EE's for now

Aww I’m sorry the quail died post pics of the new chicks you have!!! We love baby chicken pics!

Yes I read this article the first time I hatched geese and it was a success 3 of the 4 eggs hatched the 4th egg never made It pass 2 weeks Pete sure does know his stuff.

Here's a photo of the chicks. I have them on my front porch in a kiddie pool. I put chicken wire around it to keep them from getting out and its actually a pretty nice set up,

I have a heat lamp to keep them warm. Once they're fully feathered or maybe on a sunny warm day I'll take the circular wire outside and let them run around in the grass a few house a day they'd probably enjoy that. I live in south Ga, so the temps are going up pretty quickly.
