IT is finished, a few finishing touches are needed but we are tired!!!!

That is wonderful!! You guys did a great job. I have only have a couple hens and it took us forever!! Just put up a latice fence to keep them in one part of the yard because I hated telling people to watch where they walk when we went outside!! Hope you enjoy it as much as your chickens do. Is the music going to stay? I hear chickens like music! LOL!

I think they like the music, and unless we need it else where it will stay in there for now. I am going for pine shavings today. See how they like that and I need a waterer too. And we need to make a few more roosts, but we are pretty much finished. Thanks to everyone who followed the post, its been fun. I will post any add-ons as they arise!!!

We thought about putting a radio in the henhouse - the music might help keep predators away???

What a wonderful thread!

We are currently using a tent sort of thing with tarps over a chainlink frame and no real roof, although the tarp is pinched together at the top. I'd like my chickens to have something even half as nice as this.

Meanwhile, I think I can put a heater nearby and maybe run the warmth into the tent with some big pipe--there is some laying out against the back fence i think I can cut a section off of.

Never heard about the radio but my chickies will be getting one soon. We have the electric wiring around the top of the fence around their yard, but that won't help airborne predators like hawks and owls. I think a radio might just keep them at bay.
