Well I started with 5 silkie chickens I rescued the owners before me tries putting buckets on them to suffocate them... well when it was dark i went in took the buckets off the chickens.. I bring them home and they sat on eggs. I didn't realize one was a rooster as it never crowed well after he need a hen he crowed.. and so 2 months later I have 25 chickens! 20 of them just hatched this month! I have chicks all over the place. Their Soooooo adorible! [IMG] [IMG]

Buckets on their heads to suffocate them? That's horrible. Good for you for rescuing them.

i started with 2 chickens and now have 43. [IMG]

I'm THRILLED about the chicks but now I have to build an actual hen house! They were living in a dog house in a kennel now I'm forced to build a coop I'm stoked! [IMG]

Quote:Wow! i'll have to tell my husband "See, it could have been worse". Although, at one time, including chicks in brooders, i was over 100. Now that was way too much work for me.
