We are in our 3rd year of raising pigs and showing for 4-H. We have learned alot and there is still more to go! We have a concrete pad that we keep the pigs on until they get around 150 pounds or so and then onto the dirt they go because of arthritis. We hand feed our pigs twice a day with a custom mix that is wet down into a slop. You need to find an elevator that custom mixes feed. Ask around for someone who knows what they are talking about when mixing hog feed. I got really lucky here and have a GREAT feed guy that is a genius when it comes to pigs. For shelter we have porta-huts, it is an actual brand that if you search you can see what they look like. We ended up purchasing a hog waterer that has been great for us.
