I live in Arizona, we have been having an excessive heat wave. I live at a higher elevation so a little cooler than other areas. Soon are monsoons will be here it will get humid with almost daily chances of rain. I'm in a rural area some of my neighbors have chickens,ducks,horses,goats and peacocks. We do have a problem with people's dogs getting into yards and killing some of are live stock. We have a lot of fires in are state. We have had one burning about 6 miles south of are town it has been burning for over 6 weeks. One person posted a pic of a mountain lion in there yard , I am surprised we didn't have more wild life here with the fire so close.
Oh wow!!! Summer here is deadly! I'm in Texas, and it gets in the hundreds here! The heat killed one of my chickens and made one very sick! She almost died.
I am sorry to hear the heat did in your chicken. If you go to the Arizona thread several others have lost chickens do to the heat. Earlier in the week some areas were 120. I thank god we will go back to normal temps next week still very hot in Arizona. I think Phoenix has 100 days in the 100s every summer. Where I live we usually stay under 100. I hope others join and talk about their state
