Staying as Healthy as We Can Food and Pesticides

Thanks! Did this one year, but corn takes up a LOT of space! My FIL grows corn so we get it from him now. I trade him tomatoes (I’ve become a guru of tomato growing!) 😂 Always keep my beans & squash together though! 3 sisters plan is awesome if you have a lot of room!
I grow my corn all squished together. My issue is raccoons and I have got a bit discouraged because they just don’t share well.

Yay! I got on a "notify me when this is back in stock" list and just got notified that the Purple Majesty potatoes were available. So I order a pound. Wheeeee!

I'm really hoping that I can grow red and purple fleshed potatoes here. And that DH doesn't think they're too weird looking....

I assume you are aware of ‘the three sisters’. It is one of the classic companion planting approaches I believe a Native American piece of know-how.
A corn, a squash, and a bean seed all together in one mound.
The corn provides support for the bean, the bean fixes nitrogen from the soil, the squash shades the roots and deters critters because of its spiny leaves.
Look it up in The Farmers Almanac and give it a go!
Thank you RC.

Corn squash and bean. keeping this in my head :)

I really enjoy the red potato but I've never tasted the purple. Are they similar to the red?
