Stella's Social Club

Kathy, how did you get emu to sit up? I figured he(she) needed surgical pins in each leg so it could stand. Glad it's got a good home now. I just don't have room for an emu - what was I thinking?

I've been trying to tell you all - my emus mind me! They do what I say!

We are a little freaked out tonight. We stopped by the other house today on our way back home. Someone had been in the house, barn, and both coops! We use a bungee cord to close the gate and it was tied in a knot instead of just having the hooks together. I thought maybe a package was delivered and the driver tied the bungee cord in a knot. When we got up to the house the door from the screen room into my office was open! The ceiling fans in the upstairs bedrooms were on. I went down to the barn and found all the lights on and the door between the barn and coop open. Nothing jumped out as being missing. I went up to the coops and found both gates unlocked. The strangest thing of all was one of the plastic nest pads from the chicken coop was just inside the door of the turkey coop. It was upside down without even a piece of shavings on it directly in front of the hanging turkey feeder. I went over to the chicken coop and found the top right nest box completely empty, just bare wood, no nest pad. Seems like the work of kids since nothing was taken.

We locked everything securely and set the security system. It was a really freaky feeling to know people were in our home, barn, and coops. Michael is going to set up our security cameras over there tomorrow. I think maybe a door was left unlocked during the fiasco of moving the donkeys and emus to the new house and that was the access into the house. Michael said he never went back inside the house but I just don't know. All I know is I am still creeped out.

Diva.

Mary, that would freak out anyone. I hope it was just kids, and not some adult neighbor looking for roosters. I'm sure as kids, none of us ever did things like that. Can't get over how brazen kids are today and their parents don't see anything wrong with it.

Mary, that is such a awful feeling to know someone has been going through your stuff. I'm really sorry to here that.
How does Stella like her new house? Can't wait to see pics ...:)

Kathy, love the egg rug... Funny!

Stella hasn't moved yet and when she does she will be in a covered run. No free ranging here. All day long Coopers and Red Shouldered Hawks are over head or sitting on our fence posts. We are not moving chickens until the runs are done and the netting is up.

BooHoo, NOT, Michael cancelled HughesNet today!

I asked if I could drive the Polaris over the satellite dish until it was flat as a pancake but he said we have to return it. Hmmm, I wonder what the penalty is and if it would still be worth it.
