Heading over to my other house to feed the chickens! I have to stop at the feed store for scratch on my way over. I will be so glad to have all the animals in one place!
The work starts today on my shelters for the goats/emus and donkeys. Supplies were also delivered for my feed/hay shed. I am having a small 8x10 shed built to store a few bales of pasture grass for the donkeys and the feed bags for the other animals. It will be right out front alongside the driveway for easy unloading. I am not going to keep any feed in the coops or enclosures anymore so I don't have to carry the 50# bags. I just can't handle those anymore. I will be able to get them from the Hummer into the shed and pour them into the feed containers much easier. My plan for non-rainy days is to ride my scooter to the shed and fill buckets with the feed for each animal, donkey, chicken, emu, turkey or goat. Then I can ride over to the various feeding stations which will all be close to the house. When it is raining I'll pull my garden wagon with the buckets in it. I think this system will be a lot easier than what I had to do at the other house. I was dragging 50# bags all over that property.
Well, I am off to do the chicken chores!
