Skye is still in the nest box where the tiny blue eggs were laid. If she is still there tomorrow, she's getting some Icelandic eggs to hatch!

The chicks need to be able to get under it but not high enough to smush them. The chicks are supposed to push up into the silver plastic when they are cold. It will need to be raised about once a week.Does anyone use a brooder plate? I got one of the Premier ones, but the instructions are in Dutch and German, neither of them my native tongue. Just wondering how high they should be set initially? Any dangers I should be aware of?
Just getting ready to pull the chicks out of incubator 1. 2 chicks so far in the other, a self-blue orp and a bantam barred Rock (unfortunately a cockerel if the head spot ones are boys).
She has lots of hair! My older son, Michael, shares her birthday, though he was born in 1977. He was 8 lb 1 oz, 21" long, if I can remember back that far, LOL.
