The first of many like this.

First food photography class opened up last night. I watched four lesson 1 videos on my iPad in bed during the night. Now I am tired, excited, confused, over whelmed, and nervous. The level of skill amongst the 19 students in this class is amazing. I keep telling myself it's a learning opportunity not a contest.
You underestimate your skills!

Oh my goodness, she is precious! And all of that hair!

My oldest was 9 lbs, 9 oz - so I know how the mom feels!

Hey, my post disappeared. Anyway I said she looks like you Dar! And the hair is awesome. Then I said the love you feel for a grandchild is an entirely different kind of love. You are in for a fun ride.

The big switcheroo has begun. I moved her to an empty coop and took the batteries out of the auto pop door so they will be locked in for a few days. I built a little step up into the brooder egg with junk for the babies to get over the lip.

You can barely see the little yellow chick under Mama's breast in this pic.

Oh, I hope this works!
I love marans when they have a jaded look like they have seen it all, so french! She should have a cigerette hanging out of her beak oui?

Video I shot today. The white stuff flying around is from two large locust trees shedding their blooms. I was standing in thee doorway to the coop to shoot the video and it was blowing all over. We put up our shade screens per the runs yesterday and now they are covered with white petals.

Oooooh! Where did you find that brooder egg - it is such a cute visual pun! I want one.

Congratulations DAR - she is a real keeper and you will be a wonderful grandpa. Bet she'll have great teeth too!
