Stella's Social Club

We rushed to my FIL yesterday, about an hour and a half west, to visit him after hearing he was having breathing trouble and the hospice worker had to administer morphine to ease that a couple of times. We visited for a few hours with my sisters in law and my FIL. My husband left saying, "Well, Daddy, I guess this is the last time we'll see each other on this side." He said, no, we'll see each other again. This morning, my FIL woke about 5:30 a.m., told his wife he loved her, they hugged and he was gone.
The phone rang about 6:45 a.m., but Tom was already up. He said he heard a crash of some sort and got up to look outside, but didn't see anything so went into the living room since he was already awake. We knew my FIL probably had less than two weeks, but didn't think he'd be gone the day after our visit. My older son was going out to visit today, but my other is in Korea and of course, can't come.
I am so sorry. My thoughts are with you and Tom.

Oh Cyn, my sincere condolences to you and Tom. How fortunate that you got to have that last visit on this side. So many times I saw people hold on till one person could get there and then they would pass quickly. So sorry. :hugs
