That is an amazing head stone!
Birthdays and etc. are hard. @wolftracks has big problems with them too.
I pray that you will have a better year this year.
God Bless you and your Family!

I'm so sorry you had a mother like that. I had a terrible father, so I can relate. It must have been so satisfying when you got your degree. Good for you!I despised the clarinet. My mother was the sort of mother who could not separate her personal and academic interests from mine. She played clarinet; I had to play clarinet; and it made my overbite far worse. The dentist even told her *before* I was signed up for band that I should not play a single reed instrument - and he listed them all off for her. It was a miracle I finished high school, given I took all sorts of foreign languages (which I hated) because she loved foreign languages. I enjoyed vocational agriculture; she made me drop it for another language as a junior. It seemed every subject I wanted to take was one she wouldn't let me take because either people would think the wrong thing or I allegedly wouldn't enjoy it because she hadn't. I really wanted to take business courses and vocational agriculture so I could get a job at more than minimum wage after high school as my mother had informed me that college wasn't an option for me as employers of college graduates probably wouldn't want me because of my handicap and unattractive appearance. So I graduated to minimum wage work and it took me ten years to earn a degree.
I am also glad that the service for Cyn's father-in-law was one that he would have enjoyed. Funerals are for the living, but it is nice when they acknowledge the real person who died.
That is a beautiful headstone Kathy. I'm so sorry for your pain, I cannot even begin to imagine how awful it is to lose a son. No parent should ever outlive a child. HUGE hugs!Did you all hear me whining and fussing this week? IS IT EVER GONNA GET BETTER???? Some days are worse than others, but it seems it is never gonna be so wonderful ever again.
Anyway..... today would have been Michael's birthday. Also, his headstone is set.

I could stare at this one for hours. I love the lighting and the wood you have it on.My submissions for class this week. Our assignment was to shoot with two strobe lights, one as the key light, the other as the fill light. I photographed pichuberries, some dipped in chocolate.
Hi Mary,
Another excellent set of images. Very nice color palette, composition, and DOF.
One very minor thing I would have tried would be to turn the sliced berry in image 3, a little bit counterclockwise, to bring out some more highlights and help the image look a little less static. Although if your purpose is to show the seeds, the additional light may not help.
Great work!
George
BTW, I stated in my comment that I was trying to show the seeds, as it was important for my blog post using these photos. We got our last lesson yesterday and the assignments are due by Monday. This class has gone fast!
Nothin' creepy about the sound of bees happily doing their work.My olive trees are full of bees. It is creepy. You can hear Loca drumming too.
