I just finished processing 38 birds in two hours and fifteen minutes.

DH does the kill and I do the rest.

Before you think I'm wonder woman, I'll admit they were quail.

A whole lot faster to do.

Oh mlm..how would it be...rain! We need it! It's soo hot here. :/ I don't like it, the hens don't like it. My Pregnant dog doesn't like it. It's supposed to cool off towards the lower 90's by this weekend. I hope.
We were supposed to get scattered thundershowers today, where? No dark clouds around here. Probably up the North part of the state. It's supposed to be 101 today..by 4..oh, it's already 4:34..that's why it feels like an oven out there right now. Already put big chucks of ice in the water bowls. Melted. I go out twice a day and put fresh cool water in for them. Poor animals.

Oh, we may get some dry lightening.....and hundreds of small fires that can become huge ones....

It rained here yesterday for about one minute. I was shocked. Just enough to make big raindrops all over the deck.

DH even knocked on the window for me to come and look he was so surprised.

It has been cloudy here though. I should take a drive to Dillon Beach. It is so refreshing to go to the Ocean.

59 here, cloudy and rainy today. If the forcasters are right we will be lucky to get into the 70's the next few weeks. Summer weather definately lacking here! Even the water temp in the big lakes is only in the low 60's, just wierd. The chickens definately don't mind, though.

Hi all! been sitting on my keister all day working on my blog design. My white rock is off the nest so that situation was averted. I locked down five more Pavlovskajas tonight. Had one later quitter and two quitters in my Brabanters. Jeeze. I am moving my paves to the brooder outside tomorrow. they are stinking up my basement and need to move around some more. they are sure cute.

I looked at my 3 oops today that hatched from the contest eggs? May be too early but I think the black split to choc are a pair and the choc is a girl! I won't know for sure until they crow and lay or Kelly stops by and breaks my heart.

I was thinking holy cow, how'd you do that in that short amount of time until you said quail.

I won't know for sure until they crow and lay or Kelly stops by and breaks my heart.

I got my first harvest from my little garden beds last night. 6 Cherry tomatoes that we had with fish for dinner last night, two unknown variety of green peppers, and 7 jalapeños!

I took two eggs that I collected last night and scrambled them with sliced jalapeño and sweet onion, and a slice of pepper jack cheese. Yum Yum
