Here is the Icelandic cockerel and pullet I hatched for the Easter hatch a long.



and here is her first egg she left for me this morning.

Beautiful pair. He looks like he may have a blue chest?


My Easter hatch pullets have not started laying yet.

They are a wee bit crowded though, I need to get in there and weed out the extra cockerels.

No, he doesn't have a blue chest, DW called it chestnutty with white specs. I'm certain yours will be laying soon. We have lots of young cockerels here, too.

Oh, I love the speckling on his chest! The pullet with the blue tail is beautiful as well!

How is everyone spending the holiday weekend? We are staying home and working on a new website. Since we are retired and can go whenever we like, we usually stay home on the three day weekends and leave the road and campgrounds to those who can't go other times.

I thought when school started I would hear from Kelly more but she's been running around like crazy. Probably celebrating her freedom!

We don't have any special holiday plans. Just going out for lunch with the neighbor/wife's cousin and his wife Sunday. Other than that yard work.

We are, apparently, having the entire town over for a cookout. Started out as some musician friends over for music and food - we did it last year and it was great. But BF has been asking just about everyone he knows this year (including everyone he saw that he knew at the Casino last night while under the influence of large amounts of malt beverage) so now I am not sure what it going to happen. If nothing else it will be interesting.

Taking care of sick me, and a sick puppy. Second visit to the vet for the pup. Something they can get from the age of 3 weeks to 4 months, Puppy Strangles. Started him on Steroids today, wish us luck with this medication on the little guy, but, it's the only thing that will work.
