I love Falki too!

A week from today I hope to have 2 to 6 little Drekki III chicks in my brooder. (the gal incubating for me says that out of the 30 eggs I gave her, only 6 are alive an' kicking...that was two weeks after Drekki had gone to Heber so I suppose he wasn't getting around to all 9 hens... plus I had 6 other hens in there and I know he was servicing the BCM and the Barred Rock... of course, I didn't include any of those eggs!)

We went to Thanksgiving at my brothers last Thursday and I so missed the smell of cooking turkey and stuffing in our home, that I did a HUGE Thanksgiving type dinner today for the family and a few guests.

I took the after dinner nap and now I feel like I've got major heartburn and a massive headache!!

Guess I won't do Thanksgiving here ever again!... (or I'll just cut down what I put in my mouth)

... can't remember the last time I felt this icky. It's good I'm getting old and I forget easily.

Oh no, the dishwasher was new. He installed a new sink and connected the drain line from the dishwasher to the air gap vent on the new sink, causing the dishwasher to drain onto the countertops and into the floor.

Lucky me!

He "fixed" it yesterday and I ran the dishwasher for the first time tonight and no flooding. I can breathe.

Mary - what a life! You get to run around and pick up the perfect accessories. I really like the statues - I guess other women have musician hubbies too. I love everything you picked out- you have a real gift

Mimddh - congratulations. The first time I showed a dog, I went around the ring the wrong way, got the lead wrapped around my fingers and couldn't let go, and Brucie tried to bite the judge.Other than that I was "hooked". Oh we got second out of two dogs, and yes, a judge can withhold a ribbon. Looks like Sunni wasn't nervous at all. You dun gud!!

Dar I know how you were feeling, I only had 2 Tums left, and it was not enough. I was burping up turkey fumes in a most un-feminine manner.

I agree, I kept my white pair.  They are still living with the normal creams, but no one has started to lay yet.

Deb

Same here. They are SO white. My little girl has a cute little Crest...I could still auto sex them. They had some shadowing when the born. :) glad to have a pair. I'm excited to breed them together... Just for fun! It would be nice to have a white chicken lay blue eggs :)

Falki is handsome and Elska is gorgeous as ever!

Mike - congrats on the show!

Mary - love the new stuff. Nice lookin' daybed. I have a hunch the lamp is safe from robbery though.

We went away for the weekend - and I came home to 3 less pullets. Sad day. The wry neck girl I expected to be gone, since she couldn't make it back in the coop most of the time. Sad, but kind of a relief too - she was having a really hard time lately and would do a summersault and land on her back. The other 2 were in the lower coop and doesn't look like hawk. The first wellie pullet was just feathers. My black sex link pullet, all that was left were her wings, neck and 1 leg. I'm thinking bobcat, but I'm not sure. It happened during the day though. Of course it couldn't take one of the 5 extra cockerels.

But I'm extremely thankful it didn't take my 2 barnevelder cockerels I'm growing out.

I'm going to look into that netting that Mary uses and see if it's feasible to cover my run. It's really large, so I'm not sure. But I'm always going to have babies in this coop and I don't want to lose them every year.
