Sounds familiar - had 4 guys lined up to give estimate on tree removal - only one showed up. Guess who got the job. He said if any neighbors wanted it done it would be cheaper for all of us - because it was $ 200 just to send the truck out. (this was years ago) they also ground the stumps to sawdust, and would give the home owner the shredded wood back if they wanted it for mulch. One of the trees had termites or something like that - so no thanks on the mulch.
Oh none of the neighbors wanted it done probably thought I would get a kickback. No way!! Only one guy showed up for concrete estimate. It's like that no matter what you want done. I love the ads that say "No job too small." translates to " no price too high"
You are paling my song Diva! What a rude awakening this has been. Waiting tonight for the revised estimate on the remodel adding in all the items that were left out on the first one. In the meantime start date has been moved back a couple of weeks. I am more concerned about the coop and run than I am the house though!
Speaking of the coop I worked on the inside a bit today. Finished the quarter-round molding, installed the new automatic pop door. I couldn't get the one I had been using so I am trying a new version that uses GPS to set the timer for opening and closing. It closed tonight! I am also using the little red feeders I saved from the last house because I never put them up. I had this fake saddle stand on the porch at the last house. I decided to use it as a roost here! The board is smooth and five inches wide. Due to the small size of the coop I want low roosts this time. I am also using my antique nest box. I thought "What the heck, why not use it for what it was made for." I realize they'll get crapped up but That's ok.
