Sweet pup Rinda. Love the markings.

The breeding cage looks great! I read that a grinder works great to cut hardware cloth but we don't have one. I just took my time with the cutters. I still have a 25 foot roll left but I want to wait and make sure it goes up ok. If not, the second roll is going back. I am anxious to get out there and start stapling but I am waiting for a decent hour to wake up the neighbors!

Hi all hope everyone is well.
We have been busy here fencing in the lower part of the property in anticipation for a better way to free range a free range flock and also goats.
I did the fence myself and spared no expense . i put the posts and t posts about 6 1/2 ft apart secured them to concrete stakes to keep the coyotes out
headers over the gates and ended up putting concrete speed bumps under them.
the best part is the fence.
Bekart Hi tensile Fixed Knot no climb. best fencing you can get for your next chicken run. there are a few other brands that make it as well. out here Bekart is the brand I've found.

we have gotten 3 goats so far including Izzie our San Clemente Island Doe and once why 16 and 20 open so i can get back to lower lake will be getting another San Clemente Island buckling. we will be wethering him, eventually i may build a buck pen and get a few buckling and a few more does. Down the road for sure

Hope the fence building is going well Mary. I had a Marans you could have had, she's even broody!

I wanted to hedge my bet on getting at least one egg before she goes broody. :D

Wow Jason the fencing looks great. Fab gates too. And that doeling, OMG so cute. I miss my goats but the reduction in feed bills and labor is nice. My dream of sparing no expense on the chicken run fencing was to have someone else do it! That quickly faded except I finally got a tractor guy out to drill the post holes.

i have a tractor and really wish i had the augur attachment i did all my post by hand and had to use my breaker bar a lot haha . with the goats all my posts where 2 1/2 ft deep and required 2 to 2 1/2 bags of 80 pound ready mix

We had ours dug 2 feet deep, 9 inch auger bit and each hole took 2 bags cement. I chose pressure treated 4x4's instead of large poles so it would look better in the yard with the deck. It has 4x4 posts. No goats to keep in here! No T posts.

Kelly, that is  the main reason I haven't had a dog since 1989- buying the dog is the cheap part.  When I go through Petsmart and see what dog food costs, I have a stroke. My friend takes her elderly dog in once a year for the rabies shot, stool check, exam, heartworm test  etc.it's over  $ 400. up front.

Yep, dogs aren't cheap.
