Netting is critical for Stella!

I picked a ton more peaches after you left. Then I decided that potato salad sounded good for dinner, so I went and dug potatoes.
I came home from work and one of the Trader Joes pullets was in the front yard. First time that has happened in 5 years at my place.

I am a wreck. Blazing hot sun, painting the coop, bleeding wounds from the wire on the gate, fighting to keep flies off. Gross!

Michael is cutting the tops of the fence posts off now, so I think we are going to just drape the netting so we can let the girls out. Then I can lift the netting up to paint and we can attach it later. Judy is attempting to establish world dominance in the coop and it isn't fair to her subordinates to not have room to get away.

World dominance or world war? At least you are getting it done now, it's supposed to be hotter this weekend.

Ron - uh oh, she's figured it out now.

I know!

She was in the back yard where she belongs today.

OK, painting is done except for part of the door. Netting is draped over the run, not attached yet, and the chickens are out!

Everything is not tilted. I was on the corner of the deck!

I am off to shower!

Oh Mary, good job but, they look so lonely in there. Chickens need a flock. Tucker checked them out and was NOT impressed. Maybe a dozen birds would make things right.

ENABLER!!! Watch out, Mary has connections. You may end up with an Emu egg or two on your porch.... I know you don't have an incubator though, so not sure what you would do with it. XXXXL omelette?

I have four in there now and three pullets coming soon. That is all I can fit in my little red chicken barn. It was done that way intentionally. BTW, the drone vanilla custard is going to go great with the peach cobbler in the oven! I picked a huge pot full of white peaches today. I love having fruit trees again!

I am sunburned and exhausted but so happy to have chickens again. Can't wait for the first egg. The Isbar is going to have to work very hard since she is the only on laying! I can wait. I just love looking at them. Thanks again Kelly! I am excited to give you your gift! Can't believe I forgot it!

BTW we met Patty today. She came to the fence and introduced herself. Very nice lady. She said she used to babysit you!

So far, except for one grouch, the neighbors have been very nice and welcoming. I want to keep it that way, so no roosters!
