He's going to have to sit way in the back with a hand over his mouth. My niece was good at outbursts too. She was surveying shoppers, honed in on one woman and announced loudly "BOY are you FAT!!" My sister used to give a good pinch for something like that, only to have the kid say "OW YOU PINCHED ME." My sister uttered the typical mother's curse. " I hope you have a daughter just like you." She did!!

OMG the peaches were really juicy. The cobbler boiled over big time and I didn't have a sheet pan under it. Dang and this crummy oven isn't self cleaning. Good grief. I know what I am doing tomorrow. Ordering my new oven!

Yum. We've been eating lots of peaches this summer, cobblers and I discovered grilled peaches, delicious. The new run and coop looks great.

I am sunburned and exhausted but so happy to have chickens again. Can't wait for the first egg. The Isbar is going to have to work very hard since she is the only on laying! I can wait. I just love looking at them. Thanks again Kelly! I am excited to give you your gift! Can't believe I forgot it!

BTW we met Patty today. She came to the fence and introduced herself. Very nice lady. She said she used to babysit you!

So far, except for one grouch, the neighbors have been very nice and welcoming. I want to keep it that way, so no roosters!

Yep, I spent a lot of time there. She made some of my Halloween costumes too. Her husband and my father went to high school together.

I started a peach cobbler trend.

I have a ton more peaches, gotta figure out something to do with them. Jam maybe.

Hilarious. I too had the mother's curse put on me. I didn't have a daughter, but my youngest son is EXACTLY like me. It's really aggravating to see stuff you used to do to your mother coming back at you.

I ate my first tomato of the year for dinner, accompanied by bacon, mayo and toast. Heavenly. First time I've grown Better Boys and the flavor is excellent.

Home grown tomatoes are so much better than the store bought. They taste so good on BLTs.

Hatch chilies are in the stores! I bought a bag of them today and I am roasting a couple for a green chili cheeseburger for dinner tonight. Michael won't touch them, but I am positively giddy. He is having a mushroom Swiss burger.

Today I have been lazy, lazy, lazy. The big push to get the fence and coop done has finally caught up with me. It is nice to take a break. Kelly and her youngest visited today. They wore out poor little Tucker! He has been napping since they left and I dozed off too. He'll perk c=back up at dinnertime. Me too!
