Stella's Social Club

I hate to  say it (no I don't)  but Mary you are a real' noodge'    always complaining.    :gig  I know you love to needle Kelly  but, that is a lovely egg no matter where it was laid.

Have you renovated the house yet??   What are you doing with your time ?  - I mean freedom from goats, emus, donkeys, millions of chickens.

There's a backstory Diva. As soon as Kelly saw my sweet old set of antique nest boxes in place, she said, "They won't lay in them them. They will lay in the floor, probably the two corners in the back." The only thing she got wrong was it was laid on the floor, but in the front corner! :plbb. Next she'll probably say they won't ride the bike!

you girls have to learn to play nicely

Oh forgot to answer the second part. The renovation starts in two weeks! We may get a day here or there before that, but Johnny is supposed to start our job September. This all means that I need to start buying materials and making choices. I have NEVER had a problem shopping and spending money in my life but I am plagued by a little inertia this time. It took so long to get the bid that I didn't know what we would be able to afford so I did basically nothing. Well, except work on the coop and run at a frantic pace. I am going to get my blog going in earnest again during the hiatus from coop building to house remodeling. Johnny wishes we hadn't already moved in so that they could have total access with no furniture in the way. Oh well, we will have the motor home here and try to stay out of their way.

Well Mary you are in California, surely there are chicken plastic surgeons who can change your roosters into hens - then you can trump Kelly. No problem

Took me an entire day to get the netting super tight and stapled all the way around. On all my other runs I got it to a certain point and then let it go without finishing. This one is so small I wanted to get everything right from the start. Windows, ventilation, vinyl flooring, hardware cloth skirting, great auto pop door, auto waterer, and a Grandpa's feeder.

It is so much easier to complete projects when you are not overwhelmed by the sheer volume of cores that need to be done.

Checked on my split this morning. I'm happy to report that my new queen is still alive, and the bees were actively caring for her.

I got the wax removed, so now the candy plug is exposed and they can work on releasing her from her cage. I forgot to take a camera with me, so no pictures.

I'll go back in in a couple of days to remove the cage and push the frames back together.
