Terrible cell phone pictures in the dark this morning...........

Checked on the broody this morning. The olive egger chick hatched, but it is different than most I have hatched. It hatched out of an olive colored egg from my Splash olive egger. Father is a Barnevelder, so the chicks usually hatch out solid blue. This one has strong Barnevelder markings, so it will be interesting to see how it feathers out.

Here is the welsummer baby, doing fine this morning.

And momma Barnevelder, before I moved her and the babies to private quarters. She is a true Barnevelder, but dubbed herself on fencing when she was young.

Hope you get the job Rancher
I'm not sure how things are where you are, but it's just a one day thing. 15 hrs but it pays. Not lots of folks realize the voting inspectors get paid. It means a few extra dollars. Literally chicken feed.

Chickens do eat a lot though - so chicken feed maybe, not so bad ?

Kathy I was thinking about you today, I was trying to put a new tarp over the roof of a building yesterday and got stung by Hornets on my left middle finger and the back of my right hand near the thumb. My those hornet stings are painful! Not as bad though as getting stung in the face. The swelling is down today, but they still itch like crazy..
