Haha love it! Sorry for the appliance headaches! You can't win for losing! Excited to see the remodel though!

We DID get some processing done this weekend, 29 cornish cross meat birds, 10 weeks old. Ate two tonight, rotisserie style. My favorite was the one on the left, it was a simple salt/pepper/paprika/butter baste. All the rest except the next two are now in the deep freezer!

Congratulations Rinda! That is a big job! Looks great! I am sure you are happy to have them in the freezer, too. I can hardly wait to get these done. Mine are not cornish cross, so they will take a bit longer to grow. Sometime before winter hits they will be in the freezer!

Wow that's a lot of chicken. How long can you freeze them without loss of flavor?

Well these "ziptie" shrink bags are not as airtight as a storebought chicken. I'm guessing we really need to use them up in about 6 months for optimum flavor. But because I'm feeding 6 people we need two for a meal (well there are enough leftovers for a second partial meal, like chicken enchiladas or chicken soup), so if we eat two per week they will be gone in 15 weeks.

Honestly, is it really VERY VERY VERY cold in Alaska? Considering a move there . . . .
My husband would love for me to agree to move to Alaska. He would move there in a heartbeat.

Did I mention I was born and raised in CA? I'd literally freeze to death.

I am a softy but Tucker loves playing with him, so.......

And what Tucker wants, Tucker gets.

I love the lights, and can't wait to hear about the demolition!

X2. I love the cornish cross, they are so tasty! I don't love raising them though, gosh they are disgusting!

Quote: If you transfer them to vacuum sealed bags they will easily last a year. I still have a few of mine from a year ago, and they still taste great.
