Stella's Social Club

The friendship of Tucker and K.C. may very well have come to a swift end. I went out this morning to check on the chickens and found KC and a black cat that roams the neighborhood sitting on top of the run. I knocked the black cat off with a long piece of rebar but KC wouldn't budge. Then he ran around scratching on the shade cloth until he ripped it. Now my once-taut netting is sagging so low that I can't open the coop door!

I finally got Michael up and he sprayed him down with a garden hose! WE are going to start spraying both of them whenever they come over. That probably means we will have to chain Tucker to keep him from going down to KC's house or we will have to fence in our property.

Great. He just clawed holes in my screen door.

I was planning to replace it anyway because it doesn't slide smoothly but I guess that would be pointless.

I think a few sprays with the hose and the cats will get the message. They are just curious. Don't do anything drastic til you see how that goes. All of my animals had to learn to respect the chickens. When my Jack Russell terrier was young, she was a mighty hunter of rodents. She was trotting by a pen when a chick stuck it's head out and- wham - that was it for the chick! I was standing right there but it was so quick. I spoke severely to Annie - made it very clear that she had made a BAD mistake - and it's never happened again. I totally trust her in the pens , even when the hens peck her she totally ignores them. Same with my cat. Right now I have one batch of 3 mo. old chicks that have to be walked from their overnight pen to an outside run - the cat meanders right along with them. At first he was very interested in them but, after we had a talk, now he's just bored. I know they are not your cats, but K.C. seems to be nice and since he's spending time at your place, he needs to know the rules!

Nope, not coming in. His family just got back home so maybe he will stay over there for awhile. They are out of town a lot and that is when he hangs out here.

We just got back from picking up the wall oven on our own because they wouldn't bring it all the way to the house. It is smashed to smithereens. I am beyond devasted at this point. My mother is having angioplasty in the morning on three arteries and I will be at the hospital. The demolition starts tomorrow. I can't do anything and I no longer care. Buying appliances should not be this gut wrenching with ten grand having to be put out and then the sot roes holding it and refusing to produce. I am so done!

Well, typical day for me. I waited an hour at the hospital this morning before finding out that my Dad was confused about the date of my Mom's angioplasty. I have no idea when it is because the hospital couldn't share the information with me except to say that it wasn't today.

Came back home to find out that our contractor is a no-call, no-show for the scheduled sat of the remodel today.

Oh goody. I can't wait for the rest of the day!

If anyone wants to buy an oven/microwave combination with a few "cosmetic" issues let me know.

Apparently it is being replaced under a damaged-in-transit claim. The carrier has 30 days to pick it up before I have to pay to have it recycled. Strange world we live in.
