Thanks Kathy! I assumed you were at work since you hadn't been online for a bit. Stay outta' trouble!

Molly, those are adorable. What breed was the rooster?

Keeping my fingers crossed for some of the dark eggs to at least be pipped by tomorrow.

Tomorrow I need to build the steps for the little yellow house. I am killing my knees climbing up on cinder blocks. I also need to lay a pathway over to the house. It is a muddy mess!

I am nervous about the inspections on the other house. We are still aiming to close before January 1st so they get a tax advantage. I sure hope so as I want to get that house behind me and concentrate on my beloved farmhouse.

Today I popped in to the consignment shop again and she had added two pieces that worked perfectly for me. I bought a Victorian side table with a leather top. It is so pretty. $38.00! I also bought a lovely sewing basket from the same era. I think they look great in my parlor. Still looking for the "man" chair.

After I took the chicks away from Ida she just about went batty!

I bought a couple EE chicks and put them under her... she's treating them fine...

But the Icelandics will remain in the Laree brooder SAFE!

Great find on the table! I'll have to go down there and have a look.

Ron - sorry about your rooster.

Dar - sorry about the chick. I hope your broody works out with the little EE's.

Molly - those chicks are adorable. Especially the blue ones. Gosh I love blue chickens.

Mike - thanks for the compliment. I want my cockerels to grow up and her to start laying so I can hatch some more barnevelders. I only have 3 girls, and 1 is a cull due to a wing issue. Of course the one that is a cull is laying.

Thank you Kelly! One of these days I hope to have a place to keep Roosters. I got an email from the person that was going to let me keep roos at her place that said she was quitting chickens.

Oh well, maybe I will run into a bunch of money and get my own place to keep Roos.

I especially like the blue chicks to... I have been hatching lots of little blue chicks lately. I'm hoping to have lots of little blue hens come spring to add to my laying flock...although they sale as fast as they hatch. People don't care what breed. They just want BLUE! :)

Well, in the meantime - you have company with Mahonri. He wants roosters too, but cannot have them where he is at either. He got busted like you did.
