So............I shouldn't mention that we were around 70* today?

It is 68 at my house now....7:33pm.

Got into our hives for the first time this year. We went into winter with 13 hives, lost 2. Another is down to about a frame of bees and the queen is performing poorly so we are just going to freeze it and reuse the combs. Only 3 are ready for supers, we will super them up tomorrow. The others have all had combs shuffled around to maximize their space, and two we had to knock down to single story deeps. Phew! On top of the monthly feed run (a pallet at a time) and watching some TV broadcast conference for church. It's been a FULL day and I am BUSHED.

Hubby has given up on his sales job. It was just not working out. He's opening his own business. A little scary to me but we can't possibly be any worse off than we were! Nothing to lose at this point! Expanding the chickens again by a few breeds for next year. Gosh I'm tired just thinking about it.

Overall, it sounds like your hives did pretty well. Good luck to hubby in his new endeavor!

Quote: Yeah, when we are 115 and they are 80, we'll be sorry.

I don't understand much of the bee talk, but it sure sounds like you were busy.

Sorry you husband's sales job didn't work out. Best of luck with his new business!
