Yes he is. He lays on the floor by the incubator, then when they are making noise stands up and looks in.

Awww, I miss Icelandics and hatching! I was in Tractor Supply last buying a bale of straw to fill my nest boxes in the shop. Chick Days are in full swing! I went around the perimeter of the store to avoid even seeing a chick! But I did buy two pairs of my favorite Croc flip-flops.

I have been at the shop since early this morning painting shelving and stapling burlap on the backs. Back home for a quick shower before heading out to an advanced painting class, Crackle and Crud!

Yes Diva, I have a bunch of things I am working on:



Yes Kelly, the hutch will be painted. It moved right out of a yard sale to the shop. I plan to paint it right where it sits! Barn red I think. It is pine with shellac which I hate the orangey tone it gets. I will have to paint it a dark color because light colored or white chalk paint over shellac yellows. It won't yellow if you first paint two coats of Zinzer primer, but that's not happening!

Thanks for all the kind thoughts and encouragement. Maybe there will be chick pics when I get home!

Taken this morning. I am not happy with what the fluorescent lights do to the barn red color on the nest box roof. I may repaint that. I just did a dry brush technique with three colors but the red looks lavender. I order two of the fake chickens I had at the other house to sit in the nest boxes. They should be here next week.
