Stella's Social Club

I'm making this post for Mary. She's had a rough day and isn't up to being on line, so she asked me to let you guys know.

Unfortunately, issues have come up with regards to Tucker's severe abuse from his past. He cannot handle living with any man, or any man that comes to the house. It was a difficult decision for her, but she took Tucker back to the dog rescue today. He was very excited to see the rescue lady, so it sounds like it was the best decision for Tucker.
How sad.

Came out from my accountant and there was TWO INCHES of SNOW/HAIL on my car! IN PHOENIX... Hell has frozen over.

Thanks Kelly. I am beyond sad right no. We came to the realization that Tucker is just too broke for us to fix. Michael took some action recently when Tucker had an accident in the house that triggered his memories of past abuse. Michael just picked him up and took him outside, nothing remotely abusive. Since that time, whenever he is around Michael, he has been cowering, shaking, having submissive urination problems. It is quite common in abused dogs. There are techniques that sometimes work in reversing the behavior, but it is difficult and requires time and patience. After much discussion with the rescue folks, we decided that it would be in Tucker's best interest to be in a female only household. After his most recent rescue, he was unable to be picked up at all without urinating. He also urinated whenever he saw a man, even on the street. His foster mom was willing to take him back. She plans to place him with her daughter in a newly renovated home with all vinyl flooring. He should get the love and care he needs without being in fear that the man of the house will pick him up and throw him against a wall ever again.

I am broken hearted but I know the work would not be done here to correct the behavior, if it can be corrected. Tucker made it easier on me for sure. When I let him out of the car to go with his foster mom, he was all over her. He jumped right into the passenger side with his buddy, her other small dog. He never even looked back. He was home again.

I'll be back online tomorrow. Love you guys.

I feel for you. Glad Tucker is in a place that he feels secure in. That isn't a knock against you at all cuz it was very obvious that y'all gave him every opportunity/chance at a normal life.

I was watching the antics of my flock members in the snow when I heard the unmistakable sounds of newly hatched chicks from within the coop. Four little darling mix chicks under banty Grace in her bucket-on-the-wall nest box.

I was so excited I slipped and fell on my butt on the way to the coop. The melt has been going for hours, so I slid right into a mucky, icy puddle. I may be tender when my butt thaws.

New chicks! I know Grace has been broody for weeks, but...... I didn't expect chicks for another week, when the two silkie/BCM cross pullets hatch out the eggs I let them sit on together in the grow out coop. Then there are the eggs I put under my broody house silkie this past Friday...

It's not Spring, dagnabit!
