well my reply to you just disappeared BYC style (Dar knows what that is like) so I will just cut to the chase. Personally I would let Cameron free range in the house - he isn't the problem and shouldn't be a prisoner). The offending dogs need to be sequestored so they don't think they "won" .
A professional trainer might make things go faster if you could find a really good one. Or maybe they come to the house and explain what you need to do. Animal Planet channel used to have dog training series - maybe they still do. Usually the dog is kept on leash for corrective sessions and not allowed to participate in the fun until he learns to keep control around strangers etc. Having a well socialized dog as an example sometimes helps in the process. Rodney would see another dog getting hugs and treats from a stranger or missing out on playing fetch and in time realize the stranger was worth accepting.
I can fully sympathize with you, when I was little ,our first dog barked and snarled at people coming over. We locked him in the bathroom and he'd jump into the bath tub. Of course he continued to bark constantly from there. Hours after people went home - our ears were still ringing from the noise. It was our only bathroom so company didn't stay long.
