I am thinking like a nurse alright! Get me some dang drugs!
From what I've seen, nurses make the worst patients.
Kathy - I'll whine with you, I'm home sick today, though thankfully it's just a cold - not what you are dealing with.

Stupid question.
Speaking of wants, my kids have been bugging the heck out of me for a cat. Now they've got Dad on board, so I'm the meanie. If (and that's a BIG if) we get a cat, there would be no litter box - so it would need to be an indoor/outdoor cat. I am the one that gets stuck cleaning the litter box, and my last cat made a huge mess with the litter all over the floor. I've only had an indoor cat in my life, so I have no idea if they take to this willingly? Anyone have any issues with cats and their chickens?
just say' in !My Chickens chase my Cats. I have a cat that is going to have kitten in a few weeksjust say' in !![]()
Yolo County Animal Control shelter has lots of cats to be adopted out as barn cats, so keeping them outdoors is ok. The SPCA probably requires cats to be indoor only. There are also farms out here overrun with cats & kittens. I can find you a kitty if you would like.Might have to think about that. Let me know what you end up with kitty wise.
Apparently the rescues here have lost their mind. You can't even get a cat from the pound without agreeing to keep it solely inside. Not to mention the "home inspection". .
Yolo County is one of the more Sane shelters, although there is a group that wants to take it over. It may not be as good after that.Yolo County Animal Control shelter has lots of cats to be adopted out as barn cats, so keeping them outdoors is ok. The SPCA probably requires cats to be indoor only. Thanks for the offer. We're still in the "thinking about it" phase.
I wouldn't mind a strictly indoor cat and "force" my son's to take care of the food/water/litter box as they are the ones who want the cat. (by force I mean they lose their computer if they don't - which is a HUGE punishment for them) But DH is strongly against a litter box in the house.
