Stella's Social Club

I never get flu shots... this isn't like the flu everyone else has had.

This is VIOLENT, gut wrenching HORRID, I wanna die stuff.

My nieces husband has it worse... I only vomited twice... he's been going at it for HOURS.

The nausea and diarrhea remind me of my days in Ecuador... when I lost 50lbs in 3 weeks.

Maybe this nora thing is going to be my forced diet.

Mary, your dog looks content... That's a good thing for a dog... or any body for that matter.

Our door has a flap and magnet at the bottom. We were waiting for Tucker to use the opening first then we will put the flap back on. Hopefully he won't let any much in or he is going back to the shelter. Good grief.  :/

Surely you don't mean that!?!?! I hope I just got reeled in with the hook in my cheek for that.... But before Tucker has to go back anywhere, I would fall all over myself begging to take him. He's the perfect size, he's incredibly adorable, and I have an automatic pet door opened by special collars worn by both dogs and the cat. I actually have an extra collar..... The door opens as they approach and close behind them. Nice tight seal so the only heat loss is when one of 'em sits on the threshold, looking out, considering "Hmmm, inside or out?"

I didn't want any local critters - or any really smart poultry! - coming through the pet door, so I shelled out the bucks for it.

Heck, I have an auto-door on the coop; it made sense to put one on the house. But one unfriendly to anybody but The Chosen.

Diva - yup, I put walnuts in my banana bread. Pumpkin bread is one of my fAvorites. (Pumpkin anything actually)

Dar - hope you feel better soon. Sorry about the ameraucana's.

Mary - cutest face ever... Coming from an admitted dog hater turned dog lover... Even if Michael did steal him.

Linda - my icelandics I have just for layers for eating eggs and for my enjoyment. They are in with my barnevelder flock, but I'll never hatch their eggs.

I have the intestinal flu so bad right now, the thought of eating makes me want to throw up.

if this is "The FLU"... PRAY you don't get it.

My nieces husband and daughter (they're staying with us-- came down for my nephew's funeral)... they both have whatever I have. We've been playing bathroom roulette.

I sent my purebred wheaten Ameraucanas away today to live on a farm and the end of the story is so bad I can't even post about it. Needless to say, they are no longer alive. And they were laying VERY blue eggs and the roo was GORGEOUS.

OH WELL... I just pray I don't vomit anymore.

Flu is influenza. You have the Grippers!

I sent my Marans to live in the country and he died trying to protect the flock from a Mt. Lion!

This is him as a Cockerel with my Oldest DD:

No, I was just kidding about sending him back to the shelter. But mice? Really? He better watch his P's and Q's. Just saying.

Kelly is your girl still on the nest this morning? Can you see any improvement in your Barnie roo? I know it's early but I am so hoping it works.

No, she was off the nest and on the roost tonight. Maybe she's thinking about it. (I hope)

My cockerel looks a bit better. The swelling isn't down any, but inside his mouth doesn't look as gross - still the brown color, but cleaner looking if that makes sense. He had food in his crop too. He was such a good boy - I laid him on his back on my lap and he laid there calm as could be while I gave him the penicillin. I'm not having any issue getting it through the 25 gauge needle, so as expected the Feed store lady didn't know squat.

I still have the horrid flu. I had a 101-104 fever for 4 days. They put me on some meds and the fever is gone but am still weak and coughing.
I have been sick 3 weeks now in total. My lungs are shot from the coughing but the fever is gone. The doctor was worried I may get pneumonia if the fever came back...

Now for the good stuff.
Everyone is moved. I finished both runs and covered them.
I got 4 eggs today from my 5 crele penedesenca girls.
I introduced my white empordanesa rooster to his girls at dusk tonight.
Both my emp's are laying though my rooster is a tad young still probably..

It is done and I am beat.

Glad you got them moved Jason but sorry you are still so sick. I don't even want to go out in public for fear of getting sick.

Well, we almost pulled off a Superbowl win but not quite. My party for two was a major success although we are stuffed. I think you will be seeing some lighter recipes on my blog for a while. Yuck. But I do have brownies in the oven. Consolation brownies for the loss.

Hope Dar and his crew are better.

My Cream Legbar chicks are supposed to ship tomorrow. They were supposed to ship last week and didn't, giving me a scare when they failed to arrive. I am so worried they will use my old address and phone number and I'll never know they are here. I have sent several reminders but I am still nervous. I hope the weather is ok for them too. Egads I am going to be a basket case. Y'all are used to that by now though.
