We have a flock of turkeys in our backyard every winter. They've got us trained to leave them goodies. LOL I have seen them startled and FLY over my house. Looked out on my second story back deck one day last year and nearly peed myself. There was a hen on it. LOL. Anyway, the hens will come with in 10-15 feet when they are very hungry after we've cleared snow to the ground all over paths in the back. throw corn, both the neighbor and I. They are absolutely gorgeous to me. The golds, reds, and ambers the shine in the sun. From a distance, they are just a plain drab mud brown, but up close... Beautiful. The toms have been displaying the last two weeks also. They don't come as close as the hens though, so haven't been lucky enough to get such a great pic as you have there. Must say, that I love seeing them. I'd be very bummed out not seeing them all winter if they were to disappear.

Trappers here have been trapping and removing the local fox and coyote population to make way for more urban development around here. We've a few die hard land owners who are refusing to sell though. But the corn field on the other side of my 2 doors away neighbor did sell. He had the price jacked up through the roof. But he is sitting pretty now. Will never have to work again... Jerk.

Mary - I was finally able to capture the color from my Cream Legbar pullet's eggs. The actual color is a bit deeper blue, but this is the best I could do. Her first couple eggs were small and now she's laying big girl sized eggs.

Pretty eggs!

I was amazed at how quickly the size increased in my CL eggs. I have birds that have been laying for months and the eggs are still pullet sized. My CL just started about three weeks ago, and they already have a L/XL egg!

Yeah, my Ameraucana is still laying itty bitty eggs. Give me Cream Legbars any day over Ameraucana's. They are not as flighty and the eggs are gorgeous.

Sorry, I did not take a food picture. I do have an egg picture though. These are eggs I collected yesterday. They are from all of my layers. The dark reddish one on the left is the second egg from my Partridge Pene. The blue one on the right is from an SG Dorking crossed with a Wheaten Ameraucana:

nice eggs
