I think about every 5 years we will probably get blasted pretty bad. Every 2 years probably close to 2 feet.2009 was the storm where we bought the generator. I had snow here at 1200 ft. DH and I was on a cruise through the Panama Canal. We got off the ship in So. CA and I had a phone call from DS to tell me what was going on. When we got off the plane in SF, I started calling to find a generator we could buy on our way home from the airport. The neighbors had taken their generator and brought it to our house to keep my frogs warm until we got home. We were standing in the dark at 11:00 in the freezing cold and snow, trying to read the setup instructions for a brand new generator so we could get it fired up.
The thigh high snow in Camino was around '96-97 or so.
When I lived on FortJim rd (2400 feet . in a Valley) My elderly neighbor told me of the story of back in 1989 when they had to Snowshoe out do to close to 4 feet.
I know they say that the 09 storm was the worst for Placerville in a 24 hour period however it was nothing like the 89 storm I remember driving through Placerville and there was well over 2 feet in down town. Not to mention looking at pictures from town in the 1800's. Well more snow then or the pictures of Grass Valley as well from the same period where people where entering there house through 2nd floor windows.
