When I go to the nursery and mention deer, they start discussing deer resistant. I tell them no, I want something they will eat, choke to death and die

I actually love to watch the deer with their current crop of fawns..................when they are in the neighbor's yard. We have a resident herd that are here daily, all year round.
The NITE-GUARD solar blinkers really DO work !

One year the deer have left me one doz ear of sweet corn out of 500 ears. and did not leave me any blk eyes peas .So now when the season up for deer , now in the frezeer and we made good sauage and etc.

I have unknowingly trained my German Shepherd dog.  My chickens were free ranging. She was barking, and I went to the door to see what she was barking at and heard my welsummer rooster sounding the alarm call.  All the hens were in hiding and he was out pacing and shrieking.  I went out to hear a hawk calling.  Didn't see anything nearby and the hawk call was going off into the distance.  So, I came back inside.  Not 5 minutes later, she's barking again - again I go to the door and hear my rooster and his alarm call.  Got some scratch this time and put them back in their run.  She was so happy to go out on patrol.

I literally did nothing to train her on this behavior.  The only thing I have done is take her out with me when I would hear something wrong.  (she once chased off a bobcat for me)  I gave her some great pets for being such a good girl.  Smart girl!

What a great girl!

My LGD pup is getting a good handle on his job, though if I have fertility problems I'll know who to blame. He breaks up the rooster fights, which is OK, but he also knocks them off the hens. He is getting to be a good boy! Yesterday the mini horses got into the garden and he rounded them up and moved them back out. I didn't know Great Pyrenees would herd! He'll be a year old tomorrow. I'm very proud of him :) Best $100 I spent last year.
