I tell them no, I want something they will eat, choke to death and die

I'm with you on that. I actually laughed for real.

Deer - Just a glorified rodent in our neck of the woods too. I invite everyone and anybody to hunt on our land during deer season, but our property backs up to a State Park so the deer just hide there until the season is over and then pop back out of the woods to graze on all my trees and plantings. They are still cute but annoying. Kinda like a 2 year old on a sugar high is cute, but annoying at the same time.

What a great dog..................it's always good when they can help.

I got so sick of deer eating everything (they even were cruising my deck for potted plants), when I fling open the door and say "Deer", everyone runs out the door barking.
That's funny.

The deer have been eating my lilac, which is supposed to be deer resistant.
Those are some hungry deer! The deer don't bother my lilac at all.

Sheesh my post got lost and I am too old to remember what I said. Anyway, my salmon pic was critiqued today. They were supposed to critique the blog post but didn't. This has been a very disorganized class. People are just submitting last weeks assignments!

Anyway here is the critique:

Hi Mary. Congratulations on getting your images accepted!
Your lighting and exposure are really nice which is a huge part of getting images accepted on both sites. I love the colors of everything here and that background not only is a beautiful color but look at all that texture! I like the angle of the plank and fish as well.
My suggestions for this would be to stop down a tiny bit more or at least pull the focus to the front edge of the salmon and to leave it a full length vertical so that you have a bit more room in back for whatever the item is in the upper left corner. Moving it back so it's not touching the napkin but we would still see more of it with the full frame composition.
