IT'S a CINCO de MAYO MIRACLE!!

Remember yesterday we took the remaining cold eggs out from under the broody who had kicked them aside and the eggs were cold? We candled them and put the big green egg and one of the brown eggs into the Brinsea with the other 25 eggs due on the 18th.

Well, the brown egg is ZIPPING!!!

I may yet have a NAKED NECK!

:celebrate I have had this exact thing happen more than once. The eggs were cold, put them either in an incubator or under a different broody, and PIP PIP PIP!

Icelandic cuteness on a Monday morning....10 hatched out on Saturday!

Kathy, sorry you feel so rotten - don't do anything that makes those ribs hurt worse. And

As expected I spent the weekend outside doing chores. Power washed the house, weeded the garden, then got the tractor out and scraped the area where we feed the horses, and put 3 bucket loads of the older manure pile on the garden. Then I planted 2 chickens.

When do you think my egg tree will grow?

Cute! I love how they're all peeking out at you.

I didn't dare put it under the broody, as I figured at this point she'd kill it.

IT ZIPPED IN LIKE FIVE MINUTES!!!!

So, I stole two Delawares from the Broody Mama and put little "Milagro" (that's Miracle in Español) in the Laree brooder with them.

My kids were freaking at the NAKEDNESS of the neck!!!

So much funniness and cuteness this early in the morning! Those court reporter quotes were too funny! OMG, some people. Congrats on the chick Dar.

Great broody pics mbmess! She looks like a winner.

Kathy I was hoping you'd feel better but these things take time. Waaaaaay too much time, especially the ribs. I hope you find a comfortable way to rest. My adjustable Tempurpedic bed is a miracle when I feel bad. I usually can always find a setting that allows me to get comfortable.

Rainy day here. I haven't even fed the animals yet. It is supposed to stop soon so I am waiting for the perfect moment to put feed out. We had a farrier scheduled for this morning but he called and rescheduled for Wednesday due to the rain. Smart call. Jack hates being wet which probably would have made the adjustment to a new farrier even more chaotic.

Forecast calls for showers here on Tuesday and Friday.

I'll believe it when I see it!
