Stella's Social Club

My broody's baby kept escaping from one run to the next. Last night he didn't even make it back inside a coop at all. I found him outside between coops this morning. I caught him with a net and put him in with my grow outs. His mama gave up on him a few days ago when all she could do was pace the fence line in the opposite run.

He made friends right away! I am so glad these are all pullets!

Here he is teaching them how to lift the pop door!

pictures of your K!

Mary, Nice group you have there.....all pullets? Huh?! There seems to be an awful lot of red there...

Forsaela and Frekk have weaned their juvies. When I was taking pictures of the "twins" the other day, I noticed Forsaela was being a bit severe with them. The next day she didn't want anything to do with them. She was flying over the chicken yard fence and leaving them all day. She kept going over to Falki's solitary pen and walking around it so I put them in the "hen mobile". I've saved five eggs from her already. Not sure if the first of the five eggs are from him or Audun or Eldur but the later ones should be. Wonder if there will be any more "penguins/harlequins"?! I'll have to get some pics of the other Icelandics that were brooder raised. There are a couple of Forsaelas and a few from the main flock eggs. One looks a lot like a young Kella!
I have another broody....it's Eldur's sister/hatchmate, Egla. She seems serious so she will get Forseala's eggs if she sticks when I move her tomorrow night. Love broodies raising the chicks!!
