She said the noise can only be ignored if you are using the property for agricultural business. But, there is no noise ordinance in this county! So it shouldn't matter anyway. Our neighbor blaring his music till 1:00 a.m. is not violating any law. Why would my roosters be if there is no law?

Rooster laws have to do with another "sport" some participate in. I you can prove the Roosters are being used to breed for hatching egg, then you are not participating in that other activity.

My well pump did not come back on when the power did last night. No water. Circuit breakers have been flipped to no avail. It will be late this evening before the pump guy can make it out, but he hopes it's "just the fuse" in the pump head. He knows there are a whole bunch of thirsty birds here.

Guess I'll be shlepping buckets of pond water around today.

I had to forgo coffee this morning, even emptying the Keurig reservoir into the two rabbits' drinking bottles. Just came back from a grocery run with bags o' salad for the flock and a couple of gallons of bottled water for me. And ice cream.

Why do my dogs and cat want to lay in my lap? Silly things have fur coats! Lot of good it does for me to wear shorts....

Today is rough. I may start with the adult beverages early - maybe I won't feel the heat so much if I am pickled.

My project broody is due to hatch today and tomorrow. I checked her this evening and one of her egg/chicks is gone, shell and all, just a pile of yolk. I took the remaining three eggs and put them in the incubator after candling them. One is already pipped. If the chicks hatch, I'll give them back to her and then move them to a safer coop with the old girls. I will move Lukka and her baby back to the big coop now that the chick is older.
