Poultry, except they require 1500 sq ft per bird in Nevada county.

I could have 19.2 of them in the pasture they occupy!

That's a LOT of emu!

Ya know Linda - emus don't crow. Everyone who has rooster- hating neighbors should get a few emus to replace them. I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned it but, I imagine Emu droppings are beneficial for gardeners as well.

Diva, the droppings are more like big giant splats. Not much to shovel up. Just sayin'. Hope no one is eating dinner while reading.

Speaking of dinner, I made pepper steak.

I also made chicken and waffles again today to get the waffle recipe down pat.

Deb very nice video - they really do jazz it up for the fair. Kinda feel for the owner of the bird that got disqualified on film in front of everyone -

You know, I wonder if the kid even knew. It was not super obvious on the bird. The judge showed it to me when she was judging her. The review for the interview was just a go through for the camera. The beak was just slightly tilted off to one side. Top and bottom met perfectly. Unless you were looking at her straight on, it wasn't noticeable.

WOW! I can't imagine that.

I don't think y'all have really had enough talk of chicken and waffles so I prepared a short video. My camera went dead as I opened the waffle maker! Yikes, But I made it work. I am sure this is just the thing to win over Cyn. She'll be making them for Sunday dinner tomorrow. Y'all can thank me later.

Thank you for the great video. The lighting is amazing. Hope you used coconut oil, butter or lard for frying - the only oils that take high heat.
