i'd be afraid to even *handle* eggs that looked like that, much less send them to someone -- they look like they could disintegrate at any moment!

That is a strange thing, to ship eggs to someone while the hens are in quarantine, which means, you have them in quarantine to determine if there is anything wrong/contagious with them in the first place. You are risking someone else's flock when you do that, knowingly or unknowingly, since some diseases are passed vertically, meaning through the egg to the chick. I'm don't believe I've ever heard of someone shipping out hatching eggs from a hen in quarantine prior to this.

I am having the worst luck with shipped hatching eggs. Good grief. I am not going to out the seller, yet, but look at what I got in the mail today.

Obviously the hen has had infectious bronchitis which is transferred to the egg. I was shocked! Michael torched the eggs and all the packing material by dousing it with diesel. I took a shower hot enough to melt the skin off me, threw away the towel, and put my clothes through the sanitize cycle on my washer.

These were expensive eggs. I have requested a refund so we'll see what the seller does.

Lucky me!
