mimddh Congratulations - wow 3 majors!!! Maybe she'll finish with a fourth one. You really learned how to show dogs or else Sunna is teaching you. I don't blame her for resting up - I was always on the verge of collapse after my dogs won' back in the day'. Are any of the show girls yours? I like the little partridge (?) babies.

Deb we could get 'this' over sooner - have you considered putting two traps out each night.? Maybe they are standing in line and oops, someone sets off the trap, and the others don't have a chance to do so.? Just sayin'

Isn't it past your bedtime Diva?

Thanks! The show girls are not mine, that was the first time I had ever seen any in person.

"Two traps, no waiting"

It really is getting to be predator central. Last night the neighbor across the street called to warn he had seen a mountain lion stroll through his yard the evening before!

No more late night trips out to the chickens for me, flashlight in hand. They are on their own. Or all least I'll have the four dogs along with me, the great dane in particular. Not that they could protect me, but at least they'd have a better chance of knowing we weren't alone.

Are all these predators people are seeing out in California due to the fires, or is it normal?

We had our goat herd appraisal last week.
Our second freshener, Mint Julep scored an 86/94 (94 is the highest score possible, the highest a Nigerian Dwarf has ever scored is 93). The judge said she was the all around best goat we saw . (There were 3 other herds)

Our first fresheners scored:
Aurora 81/88 (88 is highest score possible for first fresheners)
Chai Latte 86/88 (great score!)

Our young stock also did well, they do not receive a number score (no mammary system to judge):
Delaney scored a "+ " (good plus, translates to 80-84)
Berry scored a " V" (very good, 85-89)

Our unbred yearly:
Leda of Sparta scored a "V" (very good, 85-89, receiving the highest score possible of Extremely Correct for body capacity) I can't wait to see how her mammary system turns out next spring.

I know, right? And blue is tough to get in Icelandics.

Trap set four nights in a row equals

What will it be tonight? Let's just hope it's not a skunk.

Wow, you are super trapper!

Hey all.

I'm still alive.

Still chickenless.

I have enjoyed hiking in the mountain preserve next to our home.

I try to keep up with Kathy and The Sheriff on Facebook.

Off to do some fillings on some little kids.

Miss ya all.

Dar
Hey Dar, glad you are doing well! Don't be a stranger!

I also started showing our dog, Vinlands Sunna, again. Here she is resting after winning her second major. She actually won her third major the next day, and now has 12 points, 3 more points to become an AKC champion.
Congrats! Wow!

My five Icleanidc eggs are due to hatch on Friday. I checked them today and one tiny pullet egg looks as if the chick had pipped the membrane or will shortly! I guess I'll lockdown tonight!
Good luck!

Quote: Watch out, or Deb will be on you about the showgirls. I think they are scary lookin'.

For me, fairly normal - though it does seem to be that they are coming out in force right now for a lot of us. Maybe because food is getting scarce?

I know nothing about this, but it sounds great - so congrats!

Congrats on the goat appraisal! I didn't even know you could get that done. I am going to get Laverne and Shirley appraised. How many points for sleeping on a picnic table all day?
