Stella's Social Club

I think Tucker is very generous to allow Mary 12 inches of space on his bed. It's not like he makes her sleep on the floor.

Snow day here! School is canceled here due to the impending storm. Sounds crazy that there is no school when nothing is falling from the sky, but here when they predict freezing rain you STAY HOME. As soon as the rain hits the ground it freezes over everything into a solid sheet of ice. They can't bus everyone home safely in time so they cancel school.

Praying it's not like the BIG one in 2007- I had a two week old baby and a 2 year old, we were living with my parents as hubby was unemployed, and my parents were out of power for over a week. There was so much ice everyone was out of power from the weight of the ice snapping many trees, power lines and poles. Luckily a nearby friend lived in a newer neighborhood with underground lines and we were able to stay with them for most of the week.

It's freezing here but not as bad as some of you! We got to 25 here on the hill.

I'm getting a sinus thing from running the heater. Hope it dosnt become an actual infection.

Hope everyone stays warm and happy this week and we get some rain or snow.

Quote: Smart school. I wish ours were that smart. They wait until it IS hazardous to cancel. Then they wonder why they have all these kids in the cafeteria until late at night because the parents can't get there to get them.

First freeze today.... Am getting a new chicken coop in a couple days!!!!
Congrats on the new coop! You must take pictures!

Maybe Jason is just thinking ahead? I hope so and I hope he finds one. People are scrambling for winter "survival" stuff right now. I still need to get some bottled drinking water fin case of a power outage. Our well pump requires electricity to work. I also need to get out there and take down the shade cloth on the runs. If we do get snow it could accumulate on the shade cloth and crumple the runs. The interior dividers are only T-posts and vinyl coated chicken wire.

Farrier is coming this morning to do the donkey's hoof work. He was supposed to come tomorrow but re-scheduled to beat the snow.

Nothing we can do about heat if the power goes out since the fireplace is not functional. I suppose we can go get the motorhome and park it in our driveway if need be. We can live for days off that diesel generator.

The news hoopla over the weather could be just that, hoopla. I just want a light blanket of snow. I'm good with that!

Is everybody else ready or do you stay ready?

We are under freezing until monday. But not expecting rain or snow however. I want something to fall from the sky it's too dry here.
