Stella's Social Club

I have to get pictures of my dog when she doesn't realize it. Apparently, the camera is scary.

I had some friends once who had a very sweet rescue Boxer- who apparently had a very scary background and would not allow my friend to photograph any of the children in her presence- she would always place herself between the children and the camera. They think she thought it was a gun. :(

The groomer did "hand stripping" on Tucker to remove the coarse wire hairs. I have never heard of that!

That's how they do terriers - clipping softens their coat. Hand stripping (tedious) preserves the true terrier coat texture. Must have cost plenty. Tucker looks really snazzy.
Thanks Diva! The groomer charges $40 per hour for hand stripping. She thought it would take 2 hours but she was able to get him completely done in one hour. He feels like soft fleece.

24 degrees this morning.  It's nice to be on a warming trend!  I can't wait for temps above 45, so I can feed my bees.  I had quite a few dead bees when I looked yesterday.  I'm hoping there are enough to keep going! :fl   (it takes 21 days to hatch a new bee)  The hive was strong going into winter, but I'm paranoid since I lost my hive last winter.

I have a Warre Hive and still going strong. It's a top bar hive with thick wooden walls small and tall. It helps to keep the brood at 96 degrees.
From my research before I restarted in bees, the Warre had the strongest survival rate.

Ah well -- the came and went.... it was too windy to finish the roof of the coop. I gave up -- tomorrow or Wednesday.....
