Stella's Social Club

I have 2 like your sweet Skye. They want to brood constantly! I do love them though.

Mary, your new website confuses me. Of course, it doesn't take much to confuse me. hahaha I see no way to leave comments on some of your posts. Like the poultry show.... does it not accept comments? It is gonna take me awhile to get use to your changes.

IT does now so please go back and leave a comment. There was an update to the framework I use, genesis, and it took out the commenting for a few days. This post was a draft at that time and didn't have comments enabled. It is a huge pain to fix it so the other six posts that you can't comment on are staying that way. Unless it drives me nuts and it is!

Anyway the show post can accept comments now. BTW, Walt speaks very highly of you!

OH..... I found an egg picture for ya too....

I am hoping for more eggs Loca has laid two and Chica none. I haven't done anything with the first two because I don't know what to do! I want the girls to lay more eggs and the boys to start sitting!

If those "all you can eat," breakfast stops offered emu scrambled eggs, I bet no one could finish a second one. Not only that ,for the competitive eaters - they could charge a fortune of the privilege of eating EMU eggs.

I like the ruffle on the tote Cyn. Now that my sewing machine is upstairs I may use it more often. Might try shopping totes. Or not. I bought patterns and fabric for aprons when they were all the rage and only made small ones for the grandkids.
Thanks, Mary. It was so hard to get that ruffle halfway even! But, I think it's okay. I may not make more of these just like it, maybe larger ones. We have quite a few crocheted market totes on our web store as of today, so this will go on there soon, not sure of the price, since, though it's not huge, it took me all day long to finish. And I do mean until midnight! Ack!

I love your Skye. I have two broody D'Anvers right now. One of them that I call my Pocket Penny will be 3 in April. She did not lay for 15 months, just started back for a couple of weeks and it was obviously to raise a second batch of chicks. She was a great mom, as they all are in this breed, at least mine are. Mina is the other one. She raised one batch last year. They went broody the same day, are on adjoining nests. Each have LF eggs, though. Penny has three, Mina has two. Maretta, my BW Ameraucana x EE hen, is trying to go broody again, but I'd have to separate her from the flock to raise chicks. The bantams seem to do really well inside the flock. The males are very solicitous of the chicks.

Congrats on the broodies Cyn. I think.

Skye is off the nest this morning, leaving behind three tiny cold Icelandic eggs. That's fine with me. Along with Judge Judy, Stella, Chatty Cathy, Lukka and Isi, she has earned the right to do whatever she wants in her golden years. Everybody else is fair game.
