I love the turkeys! I wonder if they will sit and hatch around there close by.

They did last year Kathy. I sure hope so because they are so fun to watch grow up.

I wondered where the girls were, they are so louche when the boys are strutting.

I just got a batch of pecans from Hickabilly Housewife, she has them listed in the BST section. I got 7# and I am going to order another 7# they are sooo good!! Some friends and I split the order and I want more for myself. The ones I bought in the store for Christmas cooking were awful this year, shrunken and bitter.

I am happy. I went out on a limb when I changed the name of this place to the Egg Farm. The url was available and I was hoping the name was available in California. You are supposed to get farm, ranch, villas, estates and vineyard names certified in CA. I sent in the registration hoped it wasn't already taken. I have had several returned in the past when I was trying to name the last place. If the name has ever been certified it can't be used until the first user surrenders the name. I just got the certification back from the Secretary of State's office certifying this as the Egg Farm!

Now I have to re-apply for an egg handler permit under this name. I think I'll keep this one for awhile. And order a sign like Not-a-Farm Mary had!

Getting ready for on and off rain for the next few days.

Filled all the big feeders inside the coops and lowered the tarps over the fronts of the coops. Lowered the back flaps to keep rain out, but left them opened a bit for ventilation. Collected eggs, filled feeder and waterer in the brooder, etc. Then I came in and cleaned my computer screen which set me off on a cleaning binge inside the house. At least we can stay in out of the rain in a clean house now!

Tomorrow I get a color and cut. I'll be a new woman!

Shelled, a mix of large pieces and halves. Just finished eating a small bowlful. pretty sure not many of these are going to make it to the freezer.

OMG outside the house is a river!! Yay ! The one time I don't have broodies in all the coops that flood.
